Welcome to my site.
I am a Marriage Family Therapist and a Well-being & Sleep Coach. My private practice is in Torrance, CA and I work with individuals (ages 5 and up), couples, families and groups.
I apply comprehensive and gentle methods and I tailor specific and effective plans for your unique needs of mind, body and soul. My intention is to understand, embrace and support you in fulfilling your needs, as you present them to me and as they may change in time.
My work is an eclectic integration of psychodynamic (talk) therapy with psychosomatic ( mind and body) methodologies (HeartMath, 12 Steps, TAT, EFT Tapping, Sounder Sleep Systems, mindful movement, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Safe& Sound Protocol, etc) meant to meet your diverse needs.
My work is continuously changing and improving because I love to learn, and you, my clients, teach me the most, I am very grateful.
Currently I am a Sounder Sleep Systems teacher and a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist for Insomnia, and I am treating insomnia, anxiety disorders and other stress-related problems in individual and group format.
I am certified in the Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) , Integrative Body Psychotherapy and in the Comprehensive Resource Model.
I am continuing to develop my childhood interest in brain performance and to integrate the latest neuroscience discoveries for awakening the amazing self-healing potential of the human mind/body through:
-- Movement: by training in Solutions for Optimal Movement, created by Ruthie Alon, a disciple of dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
-- Music and Sounds: by training in The Safe & Sound Protocol of dr. Steven Porges ( The Polyvagal Theory), The Listening Program and the InTime program of dr. Alex Doman ( advancedbrain.com)
MPORTANT NOTE: You sure want to work with a therapist who is experienced and has knowledge. Knowledge is very important, but I want you to know that it is not enough. Knowledge can never replace a relationship. We only heal in relationships, when they are safe. So, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of the client - therapist relationship. To be seen, to be heard and to feel understood by a fellow human being - these are essential ingredients which cannot replace any training or knowledge.
Before becoming a therapist I worked for over 10 years as a dentist, but currently my dental practice is limited to counseling healthcare professionals and to the management of psychological problems related to dental and medical procedures, such as dental fear, phobia, dental pain, TMD, pre- and post-surgical management.
On a personal note I want you to know that I am walking the talk: much of my experience, understanding and compassion are the result of my own struggles, passion for learning and steady determination to become the best person and therapist I can ever be.
Pain is always a messenger, showing us a road more or less traveled toward integration, towards becoming fully alive and thriving no matter what.
I know, it is not easy, but do not be afraid of the wounds- they are your gift, and I wish you find this out very soon...
"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." - Rumi
